Artist Alley Crew (1 position available)

Department
Dealers' Den
Description
🎨 Do you love NordicFuzzCon’s artists? Is having a place where new artists can get discovered and grow their skills important to you? Do you want attendees to have a fun experience finding the perfect artist to finish a commission for them? Then this position is for YOU!

The Dealers’ Den team (which also manages the Artist Alley) manages spaces for creatives to share their crafts and sell their wares at NFC. As part of our team, you’ll be working with us behind the scenes to bring our vendor spaces to life, and learn about what’s important to our artist and attendees alike to create memorable experiences. While everyone on our team helps run all of our vendor spaces, we’re especially looking for a team member to focus primarily on the Artist Alley.

Our Artist Alley typically runs 3 days (Thursday through Saturday), for two 3-hour sessions each day. You’ll be helping plan the layout, advertise it, answer artists’ questions, generally keep an eye on things, and perhaps most importantly… help us come up with new ideas to make the Artist Alley even better!

Everyone on our team has a balanced schedule, so we’ll ensure you still have plenty of time to enjoy the con when not managing it!

Responsibilities:

  • With the help of other members on our team, coordinate with other convention teams to plan the Artist Alley space, including crowd management, marketing, artist relations, and more! Once a plan is in place, you’ll be making sure things go smoothly during the convention for a few shifts.
  • Set up tables and chairs for the event, and take them down when it’s over
  • Answer questions that artists may have about our rules and setup
  • Enforce our rules for both vendors and attendees
  • Come up with new ideas on how to make our Artist Alley even better!

This role is perfect for you if…

  • You love the furry fandom’s artists and artwork
  • You want artists to have a space to share their works and get valuable experience
  • You like seeing attendees be thrilled to find the perfect artist for a commission
  • You’d like to make your NordicFuzzCon experience memorable by making a big impact across 2-3 days, for a few hours each day
  • You’re not afraid of reaching out to someone you might not know for help or to share information, and you like helping people and chatting with them at conventions

How to apply:

Email [email protected], please include your preferred name and pronouns, and a short response about what interests you about this role.

The Experience Team is looking for new members for the next convention! If you love seeing people smile, play, and relax in spaces you helped bring to life, this is the place for you.
